Welcome To Campus Bread

Hello Beautiful!

First off, thank you for being here! Whether you stumbled upon this page by accident, or it’s 100% with intention, I believe you are here on purpose! This blog is for college women (or those who have a heart for encouraging them), so if that’s you, welcome! I do have a disclaimer for you! This podcast and blog is full of real talk, biblical encouragement, and relevant issues that college women face. I didn’t go to seminary, and I’m not a pastor’s wife. In fact, I didn't even grow up in a household that attended church weekly, and I was told it was rude to talk about religion. Now, as a grown Jesus-loving woman and mom to three girls, I desire to pass along some of the wisdom I’ve learned along the way, so that all His daughters know how deeply loved they truly are.

In college, we often find ourselves navigating a whirlwind of emotions, challenges, and opportunities, and it’s easy to get swept up in overwhelm while finding our way. In the premiere episode of the Campus Bread podcast, a podcast dedicated to encouraging college women towards faith and friendship, I share the heart behind the podcast and provide three key takeaways from the episode that will inspire you on your journey.

1. You Are Not Alone

According to recent Gallup poll statistics, an overwhelming majority of college women report feeling isolated, anxious, and alone. This feeling is not uncommon, especially during such a transformative time in life. In addition to this, another statistic states that the majority of college students either stop attending church or, worse, lose their faith completely. If you fall into one of these categories, the good news is, you are not alone in your struggles, and it’s never too late to find a community of believers to connect with. By engaging with communities, whether through campus groups, church, or friendships, you can satisfy a basic human need. God created us for connection and community. The Campus Bread podcast aims to create a space where you can feel less alone and more connected, reminding you that there are others who share your experiences and challenges.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
— Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV

2. Prioritize Your Faith

In the hustle and bustle of college life, it can be easy to let your faith take a backseat. Just like any relationship, your connection with God requires commitment and intentionality, so it’s important to prioritize and nurture your relationship with Him. What makes sense for you? When can you set aside time for prayer, reflection, and dusting off your Bible? Creating a sustainable spiritual practice not only strengthens your faith, but also provides a solid foundation to navigate the ups and downs of college life. Remember, your faith can only enhance your college experience, making it more fulfilling and meaningful.

3. Embrace Your Identity

We are all daughters of a King, chosen and beloved. Understanding your identity in Christ can transform how you view yourself and your circumstances. When you recognize that you are exquisite in His eyes, it empowers you to face challenges with confidence and grace. As you embrace who you are and the unique gifts you bring to the world, surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you to be your authentic self. The Campus Bread community is here to cheer you on as you discover your place in this new world and grow into the leader you are meant to be. Keep making room for God in your life, and remember, With Him, You Are Limitless!
