What's Your "Word of The Year"?

What's This whole "Word of The Year" Thing? Does it really work and can it apply to me?

I took a stab at the whole "Word of The Year” idea, last year after being inspired from a blogger I followed. I made my 2018 Word: FREE! For me, this meant:

FREEDOM from FEAR

FREE TO EVOLVE & GROW

FREE TO FORGIVE

FREE TO LET GO!

Each one of these ideas above were significant to my journey in 2018. I knew I’d be taking risks and doing new things and I couldn’t be afraid if I was to actually execute my “crazy” ideas. I knew I wanted to grow in my business and not be afraid of what others would think.

I knew I was holding on to pain that I experienced in my relationships and that in order to move forward in peace and in love, it was essential I give myself the freedom to forgive and let go of past transgressions. And I also knew I needed the freedom to forgive MYSELF for hurt and wrong I’ve done to those I love most.

The weak can never forgiveForgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
Mahatma Gandhi

This idea of FREEDOM is still at the forefront to how I live, because I make a choice to NOT hold back in my life, my dreams, and my relationships.

In the spirit of not holding back, for 2019, I choose the word HEART.

And Why? Because I am a huge believer in operating from my gut and want to align my HEART with my decisions. Not that it makes me “soft,” or unable to discern what business decision is best, but because I want to make sure all of my choices derive from pure intentions.

When I operate from my HEART, there is no guilt or shame. When I communicate with HEART, there is love. When I connect with my HEART, there is magic and confidence.

So now it’s your turn. How do YOU feel about having a Word of The Year? Could this help drive you, inspire you or keep you focussed in your life purpose?

I’d love to hear your take and if you choose a word, share with me! Comment below and let me know!
